Lauran & Angelo’s wedding was a beautiful celebration filled with genuine emotion, elegant surroundings and plenty of unforgettable moments across Perth. From the quiet excitement of getting ready in Stirling to their ceremony and reception at Bells Functions, their wedding day gave us the opportunity to capture a wonderful mix of candid moments, beautiful portraits and heartfelt celebrations.

As a Perth wedding photographer, I love wedding days that allow enough time to move between different locations and capture each part of the story naturally. For Lauran & Angelo, one of the highlights was taking their wedding portraits around Elizabeth Quay, making use of the jetty, bridges and surrounding waterfront areas.

Getting Ready in Stirling

The day began with Lauran getting ready in Stirling. These early moments are always some of my favourite parts of a wedding day to photograph because everything feels a little quieter before the celebrations begin.

From the finishing touches to the dress, flowers, accessories and those little moments shared with family and friends, the morning preparation helped tell the story of Lauran and Angelo’s wedding day from the very beginning.

I focused on keeping the photography natural and unobtrusive, allowing the real emotions and interactions to happen without constantly interrupting the moment.

Wedding Ceremony at Bells Functions

From Stirling, the celebration continued at Bells Functions, where Lauran and Angelo exchanged their vows surrounded by their loved ones.

The ceremony was filled with the emotions you’d expect from such an important moment — happy tears, smiles, nervous excitement and plenty of beautiful reactions from family and friends.

Rather than creating overly posed photographs, I focused on documenting the moments as they naturally unfolded, while also making sure the important details and people were captured throughout the ceremony.

Elizabeth Quay Wedding Photography

After the ceremony, we made our way to Elizabeth Quay for portraits.

Elizabeth Quay is one of my favourite locations for wedding photography in Perth because it offers so much variety within a relatively small area. The waterfront, jetty, bridges, architecture and surrounding cityscape can all create completely different looks within the same portrait session.

For Lauran and Angelo, we explored different areas around the quay, using the jetty and bridges to create a combination of romantic portraits and more relaxed, candid photographs.

The waterfront provided beautiful open space for romantic portraits, while the bridges and surrounding architecture added a more editorial feel to some of the images.

This is one of the reasons I enjoy photographing couples around Elizabeth Quay. You can move from a classic waterfront portrait to a more modern city-inspired image in just a few minutes, giving the gallery plenty of variety without needing to travel between multiple locations.

A Natural and Candid Approach

Throughout Lauran & Angelo’s wedding, my approach was focused on capturing the day as it actually felt.

There were the big moments — the ceremony, portraits and celebrations — but also the smaller interactions that can easily be missed. A smile between the couple, a reaction from a family member or a spontaneous laugh with the bridal party can often become one of the most meaningful photographs from the day.

For me, wedding photography isn’t just about creating beautiful images. It’s about creating photographs that bring you back to how the day felt.

Reception at Bells Functions

After portraits at Elizabeth Quay, the celebrations continued back at Bells Functions for the reception.

The evening brought together family and friends for speeches, dinner, laughter and plenty of celebration. These reception moments allowed the photography to become more documentary again, capturing the atmosphere and energy of the room as everyone enjoyed the evening together.

From emotional speeches to candid reactions and moments on the dance floor, the reception completed the story of Lauran and Angelo’s wedding day.

Elizabeth Quay Wedding Photographer in Perth

If you’re planning a wedding in Perth and are considering Elizabeth Quay for your wedding portraits, it can be a fantastic location for couples looking for a mixture of waterfront, city and architectural backgrounds.

As an Elizabeth Quay photographer, I love creating a balance between natural candid photographs and guided portraits. You don’t need to be experienced in front of the camera — I’ll help with simple direction when needed while giving you plenty of space to interact naturally with each other.

Whether your wedding ceremony or reception is at Bells Functions, another Perth venue, or somewhere further away, Elizabeth Quay can be a beautiful addition to your wedding photography timeline.

Lauran & Angelo’s wedding was a wonderful example of how different Perth locations can come together to create one complete wedding story — from getting ready in Stirling, to celebrating at Bells Functions, and exploring Elizabeth Quay together for their portraits.

It was a pleasure to be there to capture it all.
